In the US there has been a U-Turn by the White House on immigration enforcement. The US border chief Tom Homan has announced an end to the immigration crackdown in Minneapolis. Operation Metro Surge sent roughly 3,000 armed ICE agents into the city last month. The deployment was marked by mass detentions… and set off widespread protests, as two demonstators were shot dead by federal agents.
