U.S. President Donald Trump said in a cabinet meeting Thursday that he asked Putin “not to fire into Kyiv and the various towns for a week, and he agreed to do that.” Meanwhile, continued Russian drone and missile strikes have left many Ukrainians without electricity or heating.

On Tuesday, a Russian drone attack killed three people and wounded 25 in an Odesa residential building. Another drone strike reportedly hit a civilian train in the Kharkiv region, killing five people.

On Wednesday, an Orthodox monastery in Odesa was set aflame after a drone strike where three people were injured. Additionally, a couple died in an apartment building near Kyiv after Russia launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 146 drones overnight, of which 103 were downed according to Ukraine’s air force.
