Trump’s ‘war’ with Iran: US causalities a liability for political support, Middle East analysts say

From USA TODAY.

Analysts say President Donald Trump’s self-described war against Iran carries political liabilities for support. Among the reasons is the number of US casualties involving US soldiers and troops involved in attacks.

In a video message posted the day after the attacks on Iran began, Trump announced three US military service members had been killed and added he expected the number to increase.

"There will likely be more before it ends. That’s the way it is," Trump said, while noting the US would "avenge" the deaths of US troops.
