Severe coastal erosion caused by Typhoon Kalmaegi exposed the frame of a centuries-old wooden merchant shipwreck off Tan Thanh beach in Hoi An, a UNESCO-listed ancient town in central Vietnam. By Wednesday (November 12) the wreck was partially buried under sand, prompting experts to rush plans for an emergency excavation.
