Typhoon Ragasa floods businesses and communities across Asia

From Global News.

In Zhuhai, China, shop owners cleared out soaked tea, liquor, and household goods after Typhoon Ragasa brought waist-high floods on Thursday.

Residents said the storm surge rose higher than expected, leaving merchandise unsellable.

In Taiwan, 78-year-old Chang Hsueh-mei said, “There was no time to escape. We told him to hurry up and go upstairs,” after floods buried the family’s grocery store, confining her 88-year-old husband to the second floor.

The storm, the world’s most powerful this year, has killed at least 14 people and left 22 missing.
