The lawyer for Umar Zameer, a man acquitted of murdering a Toronto police officer, is slamming an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) report that cleared three other officers of potentially colluding.

Both the head of the Toronto Police Association and Premier Doug Ford called on the trial judge — who called the testimony of the three officers into question — to apologize.

Nader Hasan says the demand is a “Trumpian” attempt to undermine the independence of the justice system.
As Sean O’Shea reports, Zameer’s lawyers are now pushing for a probe into police conduct.
