The United Nations says it is "horrified" by the mounting violence directed at protesters across Iran, amid reports that hundreds have been killed. "The killing of peaceful demonstrators must stop. The labelling of protesters as ‘terrorists’ to justify violence against them is unacceptable," says UN Human Rights spokesperson Jeremy Laurence at a press conference in Geneva after the UN rights chief issued a similar statement.
