A Nova Scotia woman, Cherise Basque, says she almost died after the hospital she went to didn’t believe her emergency.

When the single mother of five found out she was pregnant with her sixth child, she was provided with medication abortion, but when she began bleeding excessively, she went to the emergency department at St. Martha’s Hospital in Antigonish, N.S.

The woman alleged the care stopped when she told the staff she had taken abortion pills as prescribed.
