Up-close view of Kilauea volcano’s eruption

From Cheddar.

Hawaii’s Kīlauea volcano delivered yet another dramatic display of nature’s raw power this past Saturday, marking its 41st eruption with lava fountains that soared as high as 1,575 feet into the air. For over eight hours, the volcano spewed approximately 14 million cubic yards of lava, blanketing most of Halemaʻumaʻu crater’s floor in molten rock.

While the spectacle has since paused and scientists predict the next episode won’t occur for another two to three weeks.
