The USS Gerald R. Ford arrived in Souda, on the Greek island of Crete, which is home to a NATO military base, a strategic facility for Greece, the U.S. and the NATO alliance in the eastern Mediterranean.

It comes as President Trump has pushed the U.S. to the brink of war with Iran.
