Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Sunday the U.S. would not dispute an assessment by some European countries that about the poisoning of Kremlin-critic Alexei Navalny.

The U.K., France, Germany and Sweden released a joint statement Saturday, stating that an analysis of samples taken from Navalny’s body indicates the presence of a neurotoxin secreted by poison dart frogs found in South America.

They say Russia had the means and opportunity to administer the poison.
Rubio said Sunday the allegations were “very serious.”

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov denied the allegations, calling them “biased and unfounded.” He said Russia “strongly rejects” the report.
