‘Very disappointing’: Comer says Maxwell pleaded the Fifth and declined questions

From MSNBC.

Convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell pleaded the Fifth Amendement virtually before the U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee as part of a high-profile inquiry into Jeffrey Epstein’s activities and the federal government’s handling of related files.

The co-conspirator was expected to invoke the Fifth Amendment on a “blanket basis” and refused to answer substantive questions during the deposition which Committee Chair Rep. James Comer, R-Ky. said is “very disappointing.”

Comer also said Maxwell wouldn’t answer questions unless she was granted clemency from President Donald Trump.
