From DW News.
This week, the U.S. Embassy in Copenhagen removed dozens of Danish flags that had been placed in front of the building. The flags were intended to honor Danish soldiers who were killed during the NATO mission in Afghanistan.
On Wednesday morning, a member of the embassy’s staff was filmed taking the flags down. The flags were placed there after President Trump said last week that soldiers from non-U.S. NATO countries had "stayed a little back" from the fighting in Afghanistan. An embassy spokesperson said there was no ill intent in taking the flags down. However, the move was condemned by politicians and veterans’ representatives.
