You may be feeling the pinch more lately when you’re going grocery shopping. The price of a dozen eggs is up around 158 percent in the last five years, the price of ground beef is up 52 percent in the same time frame and coffee is up nearly 104 percent.
New Consumer Price Index data released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that while inflation is still up, overall price increases have begun to slow. But, many staples are still rising, causing pain for consumers in the checkout lane.
