Sen. Markwayne Mullin is appearing before the Senate Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee for his confirmation hearing to become the next DHS secretary, replacing Kristi Noem. President Trump announced Mullin as his pick to lead the agency earlier this month following Noem’s contentious appearances before two Congressional hearings where she faced criticism from Democrats and some Republicans.
