A fireball streaked through the sky Tuesday followed by sonic booms and a blaze of orange that could be seen from Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio and even the Canadian province of Ontario. Confused calls poured into emergency services, but NASA confirms the phenomenon was a small asteroid weighing about 7 tons and moving at nearly 40,000 mph. NBC’s Sam Brock reports for TODAY.
