It’s very nice to feel like we might have some idea of where we are heading, even if we feel like the place we are heading is terrible. But the thing every examination of history provides me with is a complete lack of certainty beyond even a pretty modest time horizon.

So, y’know, I guess just…do what you can with what you have, and remember that you can’t really do anything with it without moments of joy and a life of connection.
