Hydroclimate whiplash is a term developed by climate scientists to describe swings between one extreme weather event to another.

The impact of each extreme weather event creates certain challenges; however, the combination of one extreme after another leads to an entirely different set of problems.

Kristi Gordon uses examples such as the devastating California wildfires and BC’s Atmospheric Rivers to illustrate this term and the potentially devastating consequences.
