The EU-Mercosur deal has been over two decades in the making, but Brussels is still struggling to win support from Italy and critics France, Poland and Hungary. Some also worry the deal would worsen deforestation, as many imported farm produce and raw materials are often sourced from forested areas, including the Amazon.
