The new U.S. border security chief has signaled a possible softening of the Trump administration’s crackdown on immigration. Tom Homan acknowledged that mistakes have been made and pledged to reduce the federal force in Minneapolis, which now numbers 3,000 agents. He has also promised to restore law and order after weeks of unrest.
