The US Coast Guard is actively pursuing a third oil tanker near Venezuela. Officials accuse the tanker of evading Washington’s sanctions. This is the second such operation this weekend.
Venezuela has condemned Saturday’s seizure as a violation of international law and says it will file a complaint with the UN Security Council. The US has imposed a blockade on sanctioned tankers entering and leaving Venezuela, and has increased its military presence in the region to combat alleged drug trafficking.
