White House demolition for Trump ballroom begins #shorts

From PBS NewsHour.

Demolition at the White House began Monday to make way for President Donald Trump’s 90,000-square-foot ballroom.

Pictures and videos showed an excavator working its way through the East Wing.

The East Wing of the White House has historically housed the offices of the first ladies.

The administration said the estimated $250 million project will be funded by Trump and other private donors and serve as the “state ballroom” to expand the building’s hosting capacity.

Trump posted on social media Monday saying, “I am pleased to announce that ground has been broken on the White House grounds to build the new, big, beautiful White House Ballroom,” … “Completely separate from the White House itself, the East Wing is being fully modernized as part of this process, and will be more beautiful than ever when it is complete!”
