A dramatic voiceover video shared by the White House showed immigration agents in the midst of stings and arrests in a post claiming "Chicago is in chaos". The video appeared as the Donald Trump sought to justify deploying National Guard troops to the Democrat-run city.
But AFP digital investigation journalist Bill McCarthy in Washington found that the video is packed with outdated footage highlighting drug busts, arrests and deportation raids in other states, including Florida, Texas, South Carolina and Nebraska.
