Why Alberta used notwithstanding clause to end teachers strike

From Global News.

In this exclusive one-on-one interview, Alberta Finance Minister Nate Horner joins Global Calgary anchor Dallas Flexhaug to discuss in-depth the province’s decision to use the Charter’s notwithstanding clause to legislate striking teachers back to school.

Horner also explains the path forward from this move and how it could ensure children will stay in class, despite concern of further strike action.

The move ends a three-week strike over wages and working conditions that left more than 740,000 students out of class across the province in the largest walkout in Alberta history.
