Donald Trump is turning up the heat on Israel and on Hamas, as he tries to stop his Gaza peace deal from falling apart. With the agreed ceasefire seemingly on shaky ground, the US president has warned that allies in the Middle East are ready to step in, and in his word, ‘straighten out Hamas’.
But he’s worried too about Israel’s prime minister – with growing fears in Washington that Benjamin Netanyahu could derail the ceasefire, and restart the war.
