A new round of U.S.-brokered peace talks between Russia and Ukraine began Tuesday in Abu Dhabi against a backdrop of intensified fighting.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Moscow of violating a pause on strikes against energy infrastructure with a large overnight aerial assault.

“And tonight, the Russians, in our opinion, broke their promise,” Zelenskyy said during a joint news conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Kyiv.

Ukraine’s foreign minister said Russia launched hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles, while officials warned key issues remain unresolved despite diplomatic efforts.
