Ramstein is a US Air Force headquarters for Europe and Africa, and is located in south-western Germany. Tehran’s ambassador to Berlin says it’s not clear what role it’s playing in the Iran war – and Germany has been asked to clarify. Iran believes Washington’s use of the airbase could violate a UN resolution. German officials have previously said the use of Ramstein in the current conflict is legal.
