From Global News.
Amid tariffs and previous threats of annexation, a majority of Canadians say they can no longer trust Americans the way they once did.
New polling by Ipsos exclusively for Global News finds 60 per cent of Canadians say their trust is broken.
“It looks to me, based on these data, that Canadians feel that their relationship with the United States has changed in a fundamental way,” Ipsos Public Affairs CEO Darrell Bricker said.
The polling also found 71 per cent believe the trade and economic disputes taking place between the two countries will continue for several years, with about 42 per cent saying they believe Prime Minister Mark Carney will succeed in making a trade and security deal with the U.S.
