Violent clashes erupt in Morocco after days of protest | AFP

Protesters and security forces clash in the southern Moroccan city of Agadir on the fourth consecutive day of demonstration in several cities across the country. In the capital, Rabat, more than 200 protesters were arrested in recent days, according to the Moroccan Association for Human Rights. Most have since been released. The youth-led protests have taken aim at Morocco’s social inequalities, with women and young people particularly affected. Recent reports of the deaths of eight pregnant women at a public hospital have caused considerable anger.
