Catching sextortion scammers with fake profiles

From CBC News.

Marketplace creates fake social media profiles to investigate the business behind the blackmail of teenagers, in some cases driving them to suicide within hours, known as ‘sextortion.’

There are resources that you can turn to if you or anyone you know has been sextorted or having thoughts of suicide.

You can find CyberTip online or call or text the Suicide Crisis Helpline. That’s 9-8-8 anywhere in Canada, or, call Kids Help Phone at 1-800-668-6868.
