“2 years is too long”: Israel marks anniversary of Oct. 7 Hamas terror attack

From Global News.

Israelis gathered in cities across the country on Tuesday to mark the second anniversary of the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attack, and to call for the remaining hostages to be returned home.

At the site of the Nova music festival in southern Israel, a memorial displayed portraits of those who were killed on the site.

“Nothing else is important. Nothing else can be complete… because she’s my heart and they took it from me,” said Orit Baron, as she placed flowers beside a portrait of her daughter Yuval Baron, who is among those who were killed on Oct. 7, 2023.

“I can never be happy, or complete again.”

On Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas militants attacked Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking 251 people hostage. Israel says 48 hostages remain in Gaza, of whom 20 are believed to still be alive.

Israel’s military campaign has killed more than 67,000 Palestinians and left the majority of the 2.2 million Gazans homeless.
