Canada and India’s relationship appears to be easing for the first time in more than 10 months, as both countries have appointed new high commissioners.

The appointments were agreed to in a meeting between Prime Minister Mark Carney and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was invited to June’s G7 summit in Alberta.

As Mackenzie Gray explains, Carney’s government appears to be taking a different approach to Canada-India relations compared to his predecessor.
