Class Is In Session Halfway Between The Bustle Of Houston & The Beaches Of Galveston

From All Roads.

This one-room schoolhouse has no internet and big history lessons to share with students. Halfway between the bustle of Houston and the beaches of Galveston, class is perpetually in session at the West Bay Common School Children’s Museum. The 1898 Schoolhouse Session is designed for children to experience a day in the life of a turn-of-a-century student.

Certified teachers dressed as traditional Victorian School Marms have set the scene for over 100,000 students. Replete with historic desks, antique maps and a wood-burning stove, the immersive schoolhouse experience teaches students this rich history in an engaging way. And once class is dismissed, there’s still plenty of fun to be had on the property.

The Historic Barn Museum is filled to the brim with artifacts to educate, delight and amaze. Students can get whisked away by the 10-seat "school bus" and be fired up by the first fire house in League City and take a fresh look at the combination Ice House/Barbershop.
