Conservative and Liberal MPs sparred over bail reform in the House of Commons during question period on Thursday.
The Conservatives pushed for a "three-strikes-and-you’re-out" law aimed at preventing criminals convicted of three serious offences from getting bail.
Andrew Scheer, the former Official Opposition Leader, said Thursday the Liberals "changed laws to let thousands of dangerous and repeat offenders back on the street."
The Secretary of State for Combating Crime, Ruby Sahota, said Scheer "always wants to bring U.S.-style politics" into the debate.
The Liberals are expected to introduce their own legislation to tighten bail provisions next month.
