From MSNBC.
MSNBC Exclusive: Jacob Soboroff sits down with Narciso Barranco, the landscaper and father of 3 U.S. Marines, who was detained by federal agents outside an IHOP in Santa Ana in June. The video of Barranco being hit by masked federal agents went viral while ICE held him in two different facilities for over 3 weeks, before being released in mid-July. The Department of Homeland Security alleged Barranco assaulted an agent with a weed-wacker, but his family says he was just trying to protect himself from pepper spray.
Barranco, who has lived in the United States for over 30 years, joins MSNBC’s Jacob Soboroff along with his eldest son in an exclusive interview to discuss his experience in ICE detention and the impact on his relationship with his family and the United States as a whole—a country he’s not only lived in since he was 17 but that all three of his sons have served as officers in the Marines.
