Ontario Premier Doug Ford spoke on Tuesday about tariffs as Prime Minister Mark Carney met with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington on a U.S.-Canada trade deal.

Ford said Canada will need to "start hitting back" if the prime minister can’t secure a deal, instead of "rolling over to President Trump" with tariffs.

"We have two choices, folks: You sit back and let Trump run the country, roll us over, and we bow down to the guy. That’s not what Doug Ford believes. We sit there and fight like we’ve never fought before.," he said.
