Edmonton dog lost in the wild for 3 weeks found safe: “He just ran to me”

From Global News.

Eight-year-old Milo is home safe after he went missing in the Alberta wilderness three weeks ago in the Abraham Lake area.

Milo’s owner Shianne Janson says they were up in the area for her and her husband’s wedding and had Milo leashed outside their camper trailer while they got their daughter ready for bed. She said fireworks went off and Milo broke free of his collar and ran off.

This past week a hiker called saying he saw Milo and sent a photo, prompting the couple to drive back and search late into the night when Janson said she saw a pair of yellow eyes.

"I stood still and softly called his name and you could see his eyes tilted, I called his name again and he just ran to me," she said.

As Jaclyn Kucey reports, the couple are now hoping the event serves as a reminder why people should take fireworks more seriously.
