End of U.S. duty exemption ‘stressful’ for this small business owner | Hanomansing Tonight

Starting Aug. 29, the U.S. will put an end to the ‘de minimis’ exemption that allows Canadian retailers to ship products under $800 to the U.S. duty-free. Small business owner Marion Kao says about 60 per cent of her customers are in the U.S. — and she’s feeling the difference in sales after halting shipments across the border on Monday.
