Indonesia and EU sign sweeping trade agreement | DW News

From DW News.

Indonesia and the EU have signed a sweeping trade agreement, after nearly a decade of negotiations. The deal signed in Bali removes tariffs for 80 percent of Indonesian goods in the European Union. Indonesia’s economic ministry aims to have it take effect in January 2027. It follows similar trade agreements in the region between the EU, Singapore and Vietnam. Leaders say the deal helps shield both economies from global trade tensions.
