From Global News.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) held a job recruitment fair in Arlington, Texas, on Tuesday, with officials saying they hope to hire 1,000 officers over two days. At the last event held in June, ICE was able to offer 500 people jobs, officials said.
“I just like to help people in my country and keep the freedom here and keep the peace," Tyler Hill, an applicant, said.
Those who accept and remain in their position for a designated amount of time may qualify for a US$50,000 signing bonus, officials said, citing funding from President Donald Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill.
The event in Arlington also drew nearly two dozen protesters, who opposed Trump’s strict enforcement policies.
