From DW News.
A massive recovery effort continues after a landslide buried an entire village in Sudan’s western region of Darfur on Sunday. Rebel forces estimate a thousand people died in Tarasin in the remote Marrah Mountains. Only one survivor has been reported. Tribal leaders from nearby areas have mobilized efforts to recover and bury the victims. The Sudan Liberation Movement says it has appealed to the United Nations and international aid groups for urgent help. Weeks of heavy rain triggered the landslide. We spoke with journalist Naba Mohiedeen in Khartoum.
