A 10-year-old boy has spoken out after surviving the mass shooting at a Catholic church in Minneapolis on Wednesday.
Weston Halsne, a grade five student who was attending a mass service with his classmates, was present when 23-year-old assailant Robin Westman opened fire on Annunciation Catholic Church in Minnesota – killing two children and wounding 17 others, before taking their own life.
Speaking to reporters almost immediately after the tragedy, Halsne revealed his friend Victor shielded him, by jumping on top of him.
“He saved my life…my friend got hit in the back,” Halsne said, further sending prayers to Victor and the other victims who were rushed to a local hospital.
