Pro- and anti-Javier Milei protesters gather on opposite sides of the road outside the venue where Argentina’s president is set to attend his party’s closing campaign event in Buenos Aires province, amid a political crisis. Voters in the province will head to the polls on September 7 in what will be the first major test of Milei’s support since he took office in December 2023, vowing to revive Argentina’s ailing economy by slashing public spending and red tape.
