Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked Kim Jong Un on Wednesday for North Korean soldiers’ "heroic" fighting against Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region.

"I would like to note that we will never forget the sacrifices that your armed forces and the families of your servicemen have suffered," Putin added.

Putin and Kim met on the sidelines of a military parade hosted by China’s Xi Jinping in Beijing as part of a lavish event to mark 80 years since Japan’s defeat at the end of World War Two.
