Search continues in Crowsnest Pass for missing 5-year-old boy

From Global News.

Search and rescue teams have been scouring rugged Alberta terrain near Crowsnest Pass for more than 24 hours after 5-year-old Darius MacDougall went missing near the Island Lake Campground.

Crews from Alberta and B.C., supported by helicopters, dogs and drones, remain optimistic despite no sightings so far.

Search managers say fair weather and the child’s good health are in their favour, while RCMP caution that all possibilities remain on the table.

Police are asking the public not to join the search, stressing it is safer to leave the effort to trained personnel. Justin Sibbet reports.
