Seniors forced to live in tents find new home through act of kindness

From Global News.

Two seniors in Saint John say unsafe shelters and pest-ridden public housing left them living in tents despite their age and health issues.

After hearing their story, local resident Christine Brittain stepped in, buying them a trailer home with rent capped at 30 percent of their income.

She’s now expanding her efforts to help others facing homelessness, calling for more compassionate housing and rehabilitation supports.

For Dale Keddy and Wilfred Patterson, the new home offers a safe space and a fresh start before Patterson’s upcoming heart procedure. Reeti Rohilla reports.
