Residents of a rural neighbourhood in Moncton, N.B., woke up Sunday morning to find parts of their lawns had been torn up.

While a mystery at first, they soon learned it had happened as a thief drove off with a stolen excavator from a nearby construction site.

As Suzanne Lapointe reports, while no one was hurt, the owner of the construction company is now calculating the cost the theft will have on his business.
