President Trump cancelled his upcoming meeting with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., where they were expected to discuss how to avoid a government shutdown. NBC News’ Melanie Zanona reports that Trump canceled the meeting at the behest of House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., and Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.Dak.
