Trump’ signals major change shift on Ukraine | DW News

From DW News.

The US President has signaled a major shift on the war in Ukraine, saying Kyiv could – with the support of the European Union — recover all the territory it lost to Russia.

In a social media post, Donald Trump said ‘Ukraine would be able to take back their Country in its original form and, who knows, maybe even go further than that! Putin and Russia are in BIG Economic trouble, and this is the time for Ukraine to act’.

He made these remarks after meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. Trump had earlier suggested Kyiv would likely need to give up land to Moscow in a potential peace deal. During the meeting, Trump also said he would back NATO countries that shoot down Russian fighter jets violating their airspace, but direct US involvement would depend on the circumstances.
