UN General Assembly 2025: Trump addresses world leaders amid crises in Gaza, Ukraine | LIVE

From Global News.

U.S. President Donald Trump will address the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Tuesday as world leaders grapple with crises in Gaza and Ukraine, and questions about whether his country will continue to play a leadership role in global affairs.

Since taking office in January, Trump has upended foreign policy by slashing foreign aid, imposing tariffs, and cultivating warmer relations with Russia. At the same time, he has sought to solve some of the world’s most intractable conflicts.

Trump speaks to the chamber eight months into his second term, as severe aid cuts have sparked humanitarian concerns about raised doubts about the UN’s future.

The Republican leader is also expected to go against many of his international counterparts and reject Palestinian statehood, as the death toll in Gaza climbs amid Israel’s mission to destroy Hamas.

The White House has not provided guidance on exactly what Trump will say, but planning documents suggest he could call for narrowing the right to asylum.
